Kelly McQuilkin

Kelly McQuilkin was named head women's lacrosse coach in Summer 2022, coming to the Royals from High Point University where she served as associate head women's lacrosse coach. She is the fifth head coach in the Royals' program history.

  • Recorded first DI win over Gardner-Webb, McQuilkin’s first career win as head coach.
  • Recorded first ASUN Conference win over Lindenwood and opened at 2-0.
  • Caroline Pearce named program’s first ASUN Player of the Week.
  • Grace Guglielmo named program’s first ASUN Defensive Player of the Week, earned recognition twice.
  • Shannon Donovan named ASUN Player of the Week.
  • Grace Guglielmo named to preseason all-conference team.
  • Isabella Swanson scored first DI goal vs. Richmond.
  • Grace Guglielmo ranked top five in caused turnovers per game and team ranked top 10 in the category nationally.
  • Kayleen Favreau, Shannon Donovan, Grace Guglielmo, and Shannon Kingston named to ASUN All-Conference Second Team.
  • Kayleen Favreau named to ASUN All-Freshman Team.
  • Advanced to ASUN Championship as a No. 4 seed.
  • Recorded first ASUN Conference postseason win over Kennesaw State in quarterfinals.
  • Program recorded 10th straight winning season.
  • Kayleen Favreau and Grace Guglielmo named to ASUN All-Tournament Team.
 
High Point University
  • Named an assistant coach in 2017.
  • Promoted ahead of the fall of 2020 as the recruiting, defensive, and goalie coordinator.
  • Helped top-25 High Point win three straight Big South Tournament Championships and three Big South Regular-Season titles.
  • Coached defenders and keepers who were named to the All-Big South Team.
  • Coached players who won the Big South Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2018, 2019, and 2021.
  • In 2018, the Defensive Player of the Year was also the program's first All-American in history.
 
Other Coaching Experience
  • Uganda Women's National Team - Defensive coordinator, Summer of 2021.
  • Fusion Lacrosse Club - Head Coach.
 
Playing Career
  • Three-year starting defender for Towson University.
  • Served as team captain in her senior season.
  • Ranked top 10 in career caused turnovers in program history.
  • Helped the program's defense rank fourth in the nation for a season, allowing just 6.8 goals per game.
  • Invited to try out for the U.S. National World Cup team just ahead of her senior season.
  • Following her collegiate career, McQuilkin played three seasons of pro-league lacrosse for the WPLL Brave.
  • Won the 2019 WPLL Championship.
 
Personal
McQuilkin graduated from Towson with a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance. She also has an MBA from the University of Baltimore.
