Erik Turnblom

Erik Turnblom enters his first season at Queens as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach. Turnblom joins the Royals after most recently being an assistant coach at Wofford College, a division I institution affiliated with the Southern Conference. 
Turnblom was part of the coaching staff at Wofford during the 2009 and 2010 seasons helping the Terriers rebound from a 4-13-2 season to a 7-8-4 season.
Prior to joining the Wofford staff Turnblom coached three seasons with the Triangle United Soccer Club leading the team to its first ever tournament final. In addition to that, Turnblom was a permanent fixture at the North Carolinas Girls Soccer Camp in Chapel Hill for five summers. He has also worked as a Head Staff Coach at the Ralph Lundy Soccer Academy during the 2008, 2009, and 2010 summers.
Most recently, Turnblom was a head coach for the Carolina FC where he worked with U-15s, U-13s, and U-10s getting them trained and ready for competition on the field.
The new addition to the women’s soccer program is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he majored in Exercise and Sports Science and minored in Coaching. While at North Carolina, Turnblom was a member of the UNC Heels Soccer Club. As president and captain, he led the men’s team to regional finals and to the Clemson Soctoberfest finals in 2006. The Heels also made two trips to the NIRSA Collegiate Championships under Turnblom’s leadership.
Before becoming a Tar Heel, Turnblom was a member of the Elon University Men’s Soccer Team during the 2003-2004 season.
Turnblom also holds a NCSAA National Diploma in addition to being a Certified Personal Trainer.
