Angel Carthen joined the Royals in the fall of 2021. A native of Augusta, Ga., and graduate of Spring Hill College (Mobile, Ala.) Carthen played small forward and center during her collegiate career. During her two years at Spring Hill College, she tied the school record for most rebounds in a game.
Before Spring Hill College, she attended Faulkner State Community College where she received multiple academic and athletic accolades.Â
During high school, Carthen was a part of the 2013 state championship team and many clubs, such as the National Honors Society. On the court, Carthen was mostly known for her hustle and rebounding ability. Off the court, she was an exceptional student, graduating Magna Cum Laude from both institutions. She has her bachelor's degree in sociology, graduating in 2018.
