Katie Malatestinic enters her first year with the Royals after spending over four years as an assistant athletic trainer at Belmont Abbey College. While with the Crusaders, Malatestinic primarily worked with baseball, men’s soccer, field hockey, and acrobatics & tumbling.

Prior to her time at Belmont Abbey, Malatestinic earned her master’s degree in athletic training from UNCG. With the Spartans, she did clinical rotations working with the baseball and women’s soccer programs while also working with Guilford College athletics and local high schools. As an athletic training student, Malatestinic also had a summer internship with the Carolina Panthers.

Malatestinic earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science at East Carolina University before going on to receive her master’s degree from UNCG. Malatestinic is also a certified personal trainer with experience in corporate fitness and group exercise.
