Ervin, a Huntersville, N.C. native, is a 2007 graduate of North Carolinas State University, and entering her third season as head coach.
In Ervin's second season, the Royals reached 30 wins for the first time in six years. Senior pitcher Chantel Dodge was also named Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Year for the second time in her career.
Joining the Queens staff in 2008 as an assistant, she worked predominantly with the pitchers and the catchers. Ervin had an immediate impact, as pitchers have ranked as high as10th in the nation in strike outs, and have earned horors including pitcher of the week, student athlete of the month, all-tournament team, and all-conference. Individual success carried over to the team, as Queens was crowned Conference Carolinas champions en route to an appearance in the semifinals at regionals.
Ervin has been a member of Team Fiorini Professional Softball team in Fiorini, Italy, both as a player and an assistant coach. Many of Ervin’s teammates were members of the Italian Olympic Softball team. She holds a degree in communications media with a minor in parks, recreation and tourism management. During her time at N.C. State she was a four-year catcher for the Wolfpack’s softball team. During her junior season she helped the Pack to defeat Pacific with a pinch-hit walk-off grand slam. For her career at N.C. State she appeared in 222 games, had 168 hits and recorded 26 homeruns.
