Zach Brown

Zachary Brown begins his sixth year at Queens University of Charlotte as the newly appointed head athletic trainer under Atrium after serving as the associate director of sports medicine and associate athletic trainer in previous seasons. Brown joined the Royals in the fall of 2017 as an assistant athletic trainer.

Prior to joining the Royals, Brown served as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Michigan for four seasons with swimming and diving and women’s water polo. He previously spent two years at the University of Louisville as an assistant athletic trainer for swimming and diving. Additionally, he has worked at multiple national events including USA Swimming’s Olympic Trials, USA vs. BigTen Challenge, and World Championship Trials.

Brown is certified in 3D Maps, FMS, and SFMA. He is also a certified Graston Provider and has extensive experience with soft tissue release techniques including SASTM, cupping, and MET.

Brown received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Purdue University in 2009, where he worked with football, baseball, and tennis. While at Purdue, he served as a summer athletic training intern with the Washington Redskins in 2008. He then went on to serve as a graduate assistant at The University of Tennessee, earning a master’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in sports medicine & biomechanics in 2011.

Brown is married to Samantha Ormand of Bessemer City, N.C. He and his wife have two Great Danes, Zahara, and Abby.
