Justin Mason serves as the Athletic Academic Advisor at Queens University of Charlotte, where he supports the academic success, eligibility, and holistic development of Queens student-athletes. In this role, Justin monitors academic progress, provides academic counseling and support, and ensures compliance with NCAA, ASUN conference, and university policies. He works closely with coaches, faculty, academic advisors, and the registrar’s office to track eligibility, communicate academic performance updates, and coordinate support for at-risk student-athletes. He is experienced in preparing detailed academic reports, maintaining FERPA compliance, and leveraging student information systems to track degree progress and performance.
In addition to advising, Justin assists with student-athlete development programming, recruitment presentations, and onboarding initiatives to help new student-athletes transition successfully to collegiate academics. He serves as a co-facilitator of the Royal Leadership Academy (RLA), and is a staff administrator for Queens Athletics’ Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)

Prior to his current role, Justin worked as a Business Technology and Strategy Consultant with NTT DATA Services, bringing with him to Queens a diverse background and professional experience in strategic planning and client engagement, strengthening his ability to problem-solve, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across departments. While in graduate school, Justin served as an Athletics Intern at Queens University of Charlotte, supporting the Athletic Academic Success team.
Justin holds a Master of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington, as well as Graduate Certificate in Sport Event Management from the University of Florida further deepening his expertise in collegiate athletics and student-athlete development. Justin also has a bachelor’s degree in operations and supply chain management from North Carolina State University. Â
