GREENVILLE, S.C. — Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball battled back after dropping the opening set, but Furman held on for a 3-1 victory (25-9, 19-25, 25-16, 25-20) Friday evening at Timmons Arena.
MATCH NOTES
- Furman opened the match with a 25-9 first-set victory, hitting .500.
- Queens responded in the second set, recording 17 kills and hitting .260 to even the match with a 25-19 win.
- The Royals built an early 9-5 advantage in the second set and extended their lead to 13-6 before Furman began to close the gap.
- Queens maintained control late in the second set, leading by as many as six points before closing out the frame, 25-19.
- Furman regained momentum in the third set, overcoming an early 6-4 Queens lead to take a 25-16 victory.
