CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Queens University of Charlotte's Jeremy MacLean made a name for himself on the pro scene, shocking the field of seasoned racers to collect his first pro victory at IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga.
MacLean came out on top, beating out defending champion and race favorite Sam Long, who entered the event coming off a win at the 70.3 Gulf Coast the week before. In addition to battling the proven winner, MacLean overcame losing a shoe during the race while battling cramping issues.
The rising senior came into the race after turning in the fastest 40 km bike split at the St. Anthony's Triathlon. Up next for MacLean is the 70.3 Worlds in Nice.
