Royals Show Grit in Battle with Towson

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team (0-5) battled with Towson University (3-3) this morning, falling 2-0 to the Tigers.

INSIDE THE MATCH
The Royals were aggressive from the start of today's match, finding a scoring opportunity early that went just high of the cage. The Tigers struck soon after, scoring a goal in the ninth minute of action to take a 1-0 lead. Towson then added another point to the board early in the second, which came from the stick of Rosemarie Staal.

Queens' offense got active in the third after a save by Madison Destefano led to another scoring opportunity, where Enya Kemp was able to put two shots on goal. Unfortunately, both were turned away by Towson's keeper. Kemp's second shot was the final of the day for the Royals, who were able to hold the Tigers' offense silent in the second half.
