THE SHORT STORY:
LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team returned to ASUN action on Friday afternoon, falling 6-1 on the road to Bellarmine.
Andreea Onitoiu delivered the Royals lone point with a thrilling three-set victory at No. 3
singles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bellarmine took the early advantage by clinching the doubles point with a 6-3 win on court one, while Queens was forced to retire at the No. 3 spot.
- The No. 2 doubles match, featuring
Jett Coetzee and
Zoe Cvitanovic, was left unfinished with the Royals trailing 4-3.
- In singles action,
Andreea Onitoiu earned a hard-fought win in a pair of tiebreak sets, outlasting Vendula Kryslova 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 1-0 (7-5) to secure the point at No. 3.

Lucy Hogan pushed her opponent to a decisive third-set tiebreak on court one but came up short in a narrow 6-4, 6-7(3-7), 1-0(10-5) defeat.

Zoe Cvitanovic also went the distance at No. 2 but fell 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Jett Coetzee and
Audrey Serb dropped their matches in straight sets.
NEXT UP
Queens remains on the road and will face Austin Peay on Sunday, March 30, with first serve set for 10 a.m. in Clarksville, Tenn.
