CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens men's tennis team put up a strong fight against Furman on Saturday afternoon at the Howard Levine Tennis Center but ultimately fell short in a 4-2 defeat. With the loss, Queens moves to 2-5 on the season, while Furman improves to 3-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In singles play, Queens secured two impressive victories.
Win Steveker delivered a strong performance at No. 2, defeating Matt Kandel in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.

Jan Montero Diaz dominated his match at No. 3, sweeping Theophile Joly 6-0, 6-3.
- At No. 1,
Laurenz Blickwede started strong by taking the first set but fell in a three-set battle to Elijah Poritzky (3-6, 6-2, 6-2).
- Queens also pushed Furman to the limit in doubles action, but Furman secured the crucial point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
- The Royals' duo of
Luke Coppage and
Win Steveker were locked in a tight battle at No. 2 before the match was left unfinished at 4-4.

Queens will return to action on Sunday, February 23, when they take on James Madison at 11 a.m. at Howard Levine Tennis Center.
