CARROLLTON, GA. – Queens (17–11, 8–7 ASUN) capped its final road swing of the regular season in dominant fashion Wednesday night, sweeping West Georgia (2–26, 0–15 ASUN) by scores of 25–12, 25–20, and 25–20 inside The Coliseum. With the win, the Royals officially clinched a spot in the 2025 ASUN Volleyball Championship, their second consecutive tournament appearance and first under head coach Matt Stolz.

The Royals controlled the match from start to finish, hitting .265 as a team while holding the Wolves to just .087. Queens set the tone early with a .405 hitting percentage in the opening frame and never trailed in the match to claim their seventh sweep of the season.

Freshman Elizabeth Layson continued her stellar debut campaign, leading all players with 13 kills on .333 hitting while adding five blocks for a team-high 15.5 points. Callie DeSchryver followed with eight kills and nine digs, and Camryn Teasley added six kills and a team-best six block assists. Tilley Collins anchored the defense with 20 digs and two aces, while setters Marlee Cook, Tyler Peluso, and Megan Kelly combined for 32 assists to an offense that produced 44 kills.

Queens also controlled the defensive side, totaling 50 digs and nine team blocks while forcing 20 West Georgia errors. The Royals' six service aces kept the Wolves on their heels.

Following the win, Stolz praised his team's focus and execution as they achieved one of their major season goals.

"It's really exciting to have made the conference tournament," Stolz said. "That's a testament to how this program is moving forward in its short Division I era. Our next goal is to get the highest seed possible, and we'll go into the Lipscomb match ready to battle against a really strong opponent."

Stolz also highlighted the Royals' strong setting and service game that fueled the sweep.

"I'm super happy with how our setters did today. Marlee Cook and Tyler Peluso did a great job distributing the ball, and I think we did a really good job of putting pressure on West Georgia's serve receive," he added. "Our focus now shifts to Lipscomb, where we know it'll be a big battle. Hopefully our fans come out and support this team before the ASUN Tournament."
