THE SHORT STORY: 
The Queens University men's tennis team put up a strong fight against Presbyterian on Friday at the Howard Levine Tennis Center but ultimately fell 5-2 in a closely contested matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Royals found success in singles play, securing two victories. No. 1 singles player Laurenz Blickwede continued his dominant form, taking down David Mamalat 6-3, 6-2 in straight sets.
- Win Steveker followed with an impressive comeback win at No. 2, overcoming a first-set tiebreak loss to defeat Pedro Cardoso 6-7 (7-9), 6-3, 1-0 (10-4).
- Despite these strong performances, Presbyterian took control of the match by winning the remaining four singles matches. Jan Montero Diaz, Jake Grimes, Gavin Ryan, and Luke Coppage all fought hard but fell to their respective opponents, with Ryan pushing his match to a third-set tiebreak before narrowly falling 7-6 (3-7), 5-7, 1-0 (10-8).
- Doubles play saw Presbyterian take an early advantage, clinching the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3.
- The No. 1 doubles match featuring Blickwede and Monero Diaz was left unfinished.

Queens will take on UNC Greensboro on Sunday, Feb. 9. First serve at Howard Levine Tennis Center is set for 1:00 p.m.
