CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte Royals (1-2) traveled to take on Virginia Tech (3-1), falling 19-6 to the Hokies in the first meeting in history between the two programs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hokies quickly jumped out to a 6-0 lead in today's game and never looked back. Queens'
Elise Grissett got the Royals on the board with a goal at 2:47 in the first period, and goals from
Ainsley Thurston and
Kayleen Favreau would follow late in the quarter to give the game a 7-3 score. However, the second period was all Virginia Tech as they scored eight unanswered goals to take a 15-3 lead into the halftime break.

- On the defensive end, Abby Zeigenfuse led the Royals with two caused turnovers, three ground balls, and one draw control.
