CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte triathlon is set to compete in the 2024 Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships taking place in Clermont, Fla., on Nov. 8-9.
The one-day event was adjusted to two days following damage to the course caused by hurricane season. The swim time trial will take place at Clearmont Watersports Complex on Friday, and the run/bike portion will follow on Saturday at Lake Louisa State Park.
Queens will be in the hunt for their first national championship since beginning the reclassification process. Before moving to DI, the Royals earned six DII Championship titles.
WORDS FROM SONNI DYER
"We're thoroughly excited to compete at our third D1 National Championship in Clermont. As with the East Regional, we've had to pivot our event format due to hurricane damage at the venue and swim on Friday with the bike/run on Saturday. But our squad is mature, battle-hardened, and as adaptable as they come. I'm confident in their experience level and dedication to one another over any in the country. Everyone understands that we're in a position to bring home Queens' first-ever D1 National Championship Title."
