CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens women's soccer team missed out on a much-needed win in the Atlantic Sun Conference, losing 3-0 against Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon. The Royals were outperformed offensively by the Bisons, with a 25-5 shot advantage favoring Lipscomb. The Royals now move to 5-10-3 on the season and 1-6-3 in conference play, while the Bisons improved to 10-3-4 overall and 6-1-3 in the ASUN.

TURNING POINT
Lipscomb started out the match attacking and maintaining possession, opening the match with three corner kicks in the first eight minutes. The Bisons opening goal came in the 11th minute and followed up with another within a minute to extend their lead. The Royals best chance of scoring came on a counter opportunity that led to a goalkeeper save off a shot from Maddy Leone in the 21st minute. Lipscomb put things away in the 50th minute with their third goal of the day.

Queens will close out the regular season with a trip to Carrollton, Ga. for a Friday evening match against West Georgia. Friday's ASUN women's soccer match will be the first meeting between the two teams. West Georgia is the newest member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, as the Wolves recently made the transition from Division II to Division I on July 1, 2024. The first whistle between the Royals and Wolves is set for 4 PM.
