RICHMOND, KY. – The Eastern Kentucky Colonels got a goal in the 70th minute Sunday afternoon, en route to a 1-0 victory over visiting Queens University in Atlantic Sun Conference women's soccer action. The Colonels improve to 9-6-1 and 6-2 in the ASUN, while the Royals fall to 5-9-2 and 1-5-2 in league play.

TURNING POINT
The Royals gave up their first goal ever to the Colonels in the 70th minute. A ball crossed into the deep post was sent into the net by a Colonel forward. Prior to Sunday's match, Queens and Eastern Kentucky played to two scoreless draws in the match up series. The Royals had a chance on a set piece corner kick in the 77th minute but a Sophia Muetterties shot attempt was saved by the EKU goalkeeper.

After a tough four game road stretch, the Royals finally return home for two ASUN contests. Queens will play host to Austin Peay on Thursday, Oct. 17 and Lipscomb on Sunday, Oct. 20.
