THE SHORT STORY: The Queens University of Charlotte Men's tennis team secures its first win of the season with an exciting 4-3 over James Madison University on Sunday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Royals start the match off snagging the doubles point with wins by Connor Enslin and Win Steveker at line 1 doubles along with Laurenz Blickwede and Ram Mude at line 2 doubles. 
-Queens got out to a 3-0 lead with Blickewede and Enslin also winning their singles matches.
-With the match tied 3-3 after three singles losses, The match came to court five where Filippo Verdese was facing off. Verdese dropped his first set 6-4 and won his second set 6-1 to send it to a third set. The freshman was able to get the best of his opponent winning the final set 6-4 and sealing the win for the Royals. 

NEXT UP
The Royals are back in action for their home opener against Gardner-Webb University on January 28th. The match is set to begin at 1:00 pm.
