CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Former Queens University of Charlotte guard Kasey Kidwell has inked a professional contract with Herner TC of the Damen Basketball Bundesliga. The premier women's basketball league in Germany was founded in 1947.
 
"Kasey 'Kid' Kidwell is a prime example of what happens when hard work meets opportunity," said head coach Jen Brown. "She told me what her goals were during the recruitment process. Thus, I made it my business to pour into her during her time at Queens and empower her to make her dreams a reality. She's always been a pro on and off the court in my eyes. I couldn't be more proud and happy for her!"
 
Last season, Kidwell made a statement in her first season with the Royals after transferring from Austin Peay. The Asheville native played in 28 games with 27 starts and averaged 11.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. The scoring output was good for the second most on the team as Kidwell led the team in three-pointers made and assists. Across the ASUN, Kidwell was third in the league in free-throw percentage with an 84-percent clip.
 
In her only season with the Royals, Kidwell put together double-digit scoring totals in 20 games, including an impressive double-double against Toccoa Falls. Against Jacksonville, Kidwell poured in a career-high 24 points on a 6-for-13 shooting performance and 9-for-10 mark from the charity stripe.
 
Kidwell becomes the 11th player whom head coach Jen Brown recruited and coached to sign a professional contract. Additionally, Kidwell is the first Royal in the last two decades to advance to play professionally.
