MOBILE, ALA. – Despite a late offensive spark, the Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (1-2-1) dropped their second straight match falling to Troy University (3-1) on Sunday afternoon. The Royals backline managed to fight off an aggressive Trojans attack which earned 18 corner kicks which was five shy of the NCAA record.

The turning point of the afternoon occurred in the 31
st minute after Troy earned their eighth corner of the first half. Gabrielle Chartier set Hallie Field up in the box for a goal which proved to be the difference maker.

- For the second straight match, freshman Katie Purnell put a shot on goal finishing the afternoon with two on frame.
- Junior Maddy Leone matched her season-high with two shots on the day. The Hilliard, Ohio native placed one shot on goal in the 87th minute as a part of the Royals final effort.
- Hilda Svensson and Laney Newnam each added a shot on the afternoon for Queens.
- Freshman Lucie Platt earned her first career start at midfield and totaled 66 minutes of action.
- Graduate student Erica Turner faced five shots on goal picking up four saves.
