CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Queens softball was back in action for the second day of the Eagle Classic after defeating Winthrop on day one. The Royals looked to win their second in a row, however were bested by Nevada, 8-0 in five innings.
Gerlea Patton had the lone hit for the Royals on the afternoon, a lead-off bunt which saw her reach first base safely. With
Ashlyn Mickler batting next, the speedy Patton swiped her fourth stolen base of the season but was unable to score in the inning.
Abby Craver started on the mound for Queens and managed a strikeout but Nevada found ways to put the ball in play and score runs.
The Eagle Classic continues tomorrow, February 18 as Queens takes on Marist at 10AM, followed by North Carolina A&T at 12:30PM.
