DANVILLE, Va. – The Queens University of Charlotte wrestling team remained in Danville, Virginia following their dual meet last night to compete in the Cougar Open hosted by Averett University today.

KEY STATS AND NOTES
- Queens totaled 58.5 points to finish 10th at the event.
- Greg Merriman, a freshman, took first place in the 174 bracket to earn 27 points for the Royals. He won all of his matches by fall or major decision.
- Jamikael Lytle secured second place in the heavyweight bracket.
- Sebastian Shered earned a third-place finish in the 174 bracket.
- Griffen Gonzalez finished fourth in the 133 bracket.
- Josh Voelkel took eighth place in his heavyweight bracket.
UP NEXT
The Royals will host their home opener on Dec. 3 when they welcome Bellarmine and St. Andrews to Curry Arena. The meet will begin at 1 p.m.
