McKee Drops Season-High 28 Points in Shootout with North Florida

The Short Story: The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team dropped a high-scoring shootout at North Florida by a final score of 95-90 on Saturday night.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Sophomore AJ McKee scored a season-high 28 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field to lead the Royals offense. McKee reached the free throw line 13 times and managed to sink 10 from the stripe which was the sixth most in a single game.
-Jay'Den Turner reached double figures for the second straight game pouring in 17 points on a 7-of-11 shooting clip. The junior also pulled down five rebounds on the glass.
-Kenny Dye stuffed the stat sheet dropping 15 points and dishing out seven assists. Dye has reached double figures in 11 straight games and kicked out five or more assists in three straight games.
-BJ McLaurin finished the evening with 10 points and seven boards, including a game-high four offensive boards.
-The difference in the game proved to be on the glass as North Florida won the rebounding total 38-31, including a 14-10 mark on the offensive glass.
-For the game, Queens shot 49 percent and 44 percent from behind the arc. The Ospreys finished with a 50-percent clip from the field and a 40-percent mark from deep.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
- Leading 11-8 in the opening half, the Royals would mount a 12-2 run going 5-for-5 from the field to extend their lead to 21-10.
-Trailing 59-54 in the second half, Queens sparked a 14-7 run to grab their first lead since the 3-minute mark of the first half

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
-AJ McKee has reached double figures in all 20 games this season as he is second on the team in scoring.
-The Royals fell to 5-5 on the road while the Ospreys remained a perfect 6-0 at home this season. The last time Queens dropped five road games in a season was 2014-15.
-Queens dished out 18 assists as a team marking the third consecutive game in which they distributed 15+ assists.
-10 Royals checked into the contest with nine recording a basket.
