KNOXVILLE, TENN. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (0-3-3) wrapped up non-conference play with a 6-0 loss to the SEC Preseason favorites from Tennessee (4-2-1). The Volunteers relentless attack ranks top 15 nationally in shots on goal per game and was on full display ripping 34 shots, including 20 on target.

Turning Point
The turning point of the afternoon was the Volunteers ability to net three goals in the first 25 minutes the match. The early attack allowed the home team to set the tone and control the remainder of the match.
Key Stats & Notes
- Senior goalkeeper Erica Turner had a tough battle in net facing a career-high 34 shots. The Dublin, Ireland native recorded a season-high 12 saves which is the most since saves since tallying 14 on Nov. 15, 2019.
- Queens used strong second half adjustments to hold the Volunteers at bay. After giving up four goals on 19 shots in the first half, the Royals only surrendered two late goals and held Tennessee to seven shots on target.
- The Volunteers won the corner battle 8-0.
- In the 77th minute, senior leader Nia Gaither earned a free kick just outside the box. Seeking the first shot on goal, freshman Savannah Stuart put a beautiful shot on goal which the Volunteers goalkeeper made a diving save.
- 21 Royals saw action on the afternoon as Erica Turner and Jada Palmer led the way with their sixth straight complete game.

Queens will kick off conference play on Thursday, Sept. 15 when they welcome Florida Gulf Coast to Dickson Field on Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night. The match will kick off at 7:00 p.m. as the Royals will be competing in their first ASUN match of the new era. The Royals will stay at home on Sunday for their second ASUN match when Stetson comes to Charlotte.
