ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Three members of the Queens University of Charlotte men's wrestling team competed at the 2022 NCAA DII Men's Wrestling Championships held inside Chaifetz Arena today.
Stephon Halliburton (174 lb),
Noah Curreri (184 lb), and
Austin Watkins (197 lb) each competed in their respective weight class with Curreri earning the lone victory for the Royals.
Halliburton made his first-ever appearance at the NCAA Championships. After dropping both matches, Halliburton ends the season with a record of 21-13.
Curreri made his third consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships. Curreri lost his opening round match by decision but responded by winning his next match in the consolation bracket. He lost his third match of the day and finishes the season with a sterling 27-7 record.
Austin Watkins also made his first-ever trip to the NCAA Championships. Watkins lost both matches, the second due to medical injury, to finish his season at 14-11.
The group is the largest to attend the Championships from Queens since wrestling was established as a sponsored sport.
