Royals Winning Streak Snapped at Nebraska on Tuesday Night

The Short Story: The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team had their four-game winning streak snapped at the University of Nebraska on Tuesday night in their first regular season meeting with a power five opponent.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Senior Kenny Dye stuffed the stat sheet finishing with 13 points, seven rebounds, and a game-high seven assists.
-AJ McKee reached double figures for the 12th straight game as the sophomore scored 13 points. McKee also grabbed five rebounds, including three offensive boards.
-Quan McCluney reached double figures for the second straight game pouring in 10 points.
-Sophomore Chris Ashby continued to drill the deep ball going 3-for-6 from behind the arc and finishing with nine points. Ashby has drained a three pointer in 10-of-13 games this season.
-Gavin Rains reached double digit rebounds for the sixth time this season, and third straight game with 11 rebounds.
-For just the third time this season, the Royals were outrebounded as the Huskers won the battle on the glass 41-35.
-Nebraska used their size and capitalized with 40 points in the paint compared to the Royals 28 points down low.
-Queens swiped nine steals on the evening which tied for the second most this season.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
-Nebraska opened the evening on an 11-0 run across four minutes. The Royals went on a pair of four-minute scoring droughts in the opening half.
-Trailing 60-43 in the second half, Queens used a 10-2 run to close the deficit to nine.
 
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
-Kenny Dye has reached double figures in 11-of-12 game this season, including the last three games as he leads the team in scoring with 17.1 points per game.
-AJ McKee is averaging 2.8 offensive rebounds per game in the last six games, including seven offensive boards in the last two contests.
-Queens shot 32-percent in the first half which is the lowest in a single half this season. Nebraska capitalized with a 56-percent clip in the half.
