Royals Backline Holds North Florida Scoreless on Thursday Night

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (2-7-5 overall, 2-4-2 ASUN) played the University of North Florida (4-6-2 overall, 3-3-1 ASUN) to a scoreless draw on Thursday night. The tie marks the Royals fifth this season setting a new program high for draws in a single season.

Turning Point
The difference in the pivotal conference clash proved to be the Royals stifling backline. Despite the Ospreys ability to generate more opportunities, Queens managed limit the North Florida attack to just eight shots on goal which were all tightly contested shots.
 
Key Stats & Notes
  • Senior goalkeeper Erica Turner picked up her 31st career clean sheet, and fifth this season. The Dublin, Ireland native faced 20 shots which is third most this season and picked up eight saves. In the last two matches, Turner has tallied 18 saves as she sits top three in the league in total saves.
  • Senior Logan Farrelly led the Royals attack ripping three shots and placing the only shot on goal for Queens. Farrelly has recorded a multi-shot performance in five of the last six matches.
  • Mia Manuel played a season-high 44 minutes in her second start this season. The senior turned in the Royals first shot in the 21st minute.
  • Freshman Noelle Roberts recorded a season-high 61 minutes in her third career start. Fellow rookie Savannah Stuart made her 14th straight start for the Royals and Daniela Calm turned in her second 60-minute performance off the bench this season.
  • Five Royals, including Erica Turner, Morgan Reeb, Jada Palmer, Keely Jackson, and Grace Guglielmo turned in a complete 90-minute performance. For Turner and Palmer, the complete game marks the 14th straight this season.
  • North Florida won the corners battle 5-1.

Queens will play their final road game of the regular season on Sunday, October 16 at Jacksonville University. Kick off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in a pivotal ASUN match.
