MARS HILL, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (5-2, 3-0 SAC), ranked fifth in the region, traveled to face Mars Hill University (2-5-1, 0-3 SAC), securing a 6-1 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Queens controlled possession in the opening half and put on a clinic offensively in the match outshooting Mars Hill 12-4 in the period.
Sophia Muetterties, who led all scorers on the field today with a hat trick, put the Royals on the board first scoring in the opening minute of play.
Alyssa Edwards followed in the 24th minute giving the Royals a comfortable 2-0 lead, but Mars Hill answered back in the 34th minute with what would be their lone goal of the day to give the game a 2-1 score at the halftime break.

In the second half, Queens continued to control the game as Muetterties found the back of the net again in the 61st minute off
Daniela Calm's assist. Calm tallied another assist a few minutes later when
Emma Rose Stockton's shot found the back of the net to give the Royals a 4-1 lead over the Lions.

Muetterties scored her third goal of the game in the 73
rd after receiving a pass from
Megan Eastep and Queens' final goal of the day would come from freshman forward
Maddy Leone in the 88
th. Edwards recorded the assist on Leone's goal to finish with three points on the day.

The Royals outshot the Mountain Lions 26-4, putting 15 shots on goal.
Erica Turner recorded the win on the day in goal for Queens.

Queens will be back in action Wednesday, traveling to Anderson, South Carolina. The match is set to begin at 5 p.m.
