CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team now sits at 2-4 on the year and 1-3 in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas play after falling this afternoon to Converse University by a score of 3-1. The loss to the Valkyries is just the second in program history.

Irene Zvorsky scored today's lone goal for the Royals knotting the game up 1-1 in the 44
th minute as the Valkyries had held a 1-0 lead since the 19
th minute of action.

Converse's Lotte Kanters then found the back of the cage in the 54
th capitalizing on a breakaway up the field. A goal from Layla Frost soon followed in the 55
th to give the game its final score of 3-1.

The Royals were outshot 15-11, putting five shots on goal to Converse's seven. However, Queens earned more penalty corners in the game recording 10 to Converse's seven.

Queens will be looking to end their two-game skid on Wednesday, September 22 when they travel to face Belmont Abbey. The league game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
