CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's wrestling team and head coach
Rob Tate are excited to announce the team's 2021-22 schedule. Following last season's adjusted season, Queens returns to a full schedule featuring 12 dates including nine South Atlantic Conference Carolinas matches, five non-conference matches, and two tournaments. Four dates and five total matches are scheduled to take place inside Curry Arena at the Levine Center.
"We're excited for the potential of a full year and grateful to have the opportunity to compete in the sport we love most," said Tate. "We have a great group of upperclassmen and a hungry group of freshmen. We can't wait to discover what we're good at and what we still have to improve on."
Queens opens the new season with a tri-meet at North Carolina to take on the Tar Heels and Life University. Next, the team travels to Montreat College on November 6 before its home opener and first conference match versus Mount Olive on November 10.
The Royals compete in the Averrett Open on November 14 marking its first regular season tournament appearance since 2019. The schedule proceeds with a pair of conference matches at Belmont-Abbey on November 17 and versus defending Super Region II Champion, Newberry on December 2.
Queens has over two weeks off before competing in the Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis on December 18-19.
The Royals welcome in the new year with road matches at UNC-Pembroke on January 11 and Kutztown on January 14. The team then travels for a tri-meet with Coker and Lander on January 21 before returning home to take on Limestone on January 26.
Queens hosts its final regular season event February 3 with a tri-meet versus Emmanuel and its first ever meeting with Lincoln Memorial.
The Royals will conclude their regular season with a tri-meet versus King University and Bluefield University.
The NCAA Regional Championships are scheduled for February 26 and the NCAA Championships are slated for March 11-12.
