CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Second-seeded Queens University of Charlotte fell 2-1 in overtime this afternoon to fourth-seeded Coker University in the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Field Hockey Championship. With the loss, Queens' season ends with its record sitting at 6-3.

The Cobras would get on the board first scoring a goal in just the fourth minute of play to take a 1-0 lead early. Queens matched the score in the 18
th when
Jill Sherman snuck one into the cage in a penalty corner situation.
Maya Forbes recorded the assist on the play.

The score then remained tied until the end of regulation forcing an overtime period where Coker's Britt Kabo netted the game's golden goal in the 67
th. It was her second goal of the game.

Today's game was very evenly matched as the Royals edged the Cobras in shots 13-12, putting four shots on goal to Coker's six. Additionally, Queens earned seven corners to Coker's six.
Avian Thompson finished with four saves while Kelsey Gibbons of Coker completed play with three stops.
