CHARLOTTE, NC - The Queens University of Charlotte men's wrestling team (2-6; 2-5 SAC/CC) dropped a pair of tight matches versus Mount Olive and King to conclude its regular season.
Seniors
Alessandro Araujo (125 lb) and
Noah Gilbert (141 lb) were recognized before their final home match. Both wrestlers were part of the first ever recruiting class of the Queens Men's Wrestling program.
The Royals dropped their first match to Mount Olive by a 28-15 final. Araujo,
Noah Curreri (174 lb), and
Hunter Tobiasson (197 lb) each won by decision, and
Jay Skalecki (184 lb) won by fall.
In its second match of the night, Queens rallied from behind but was stopped short by King 29-18.
Stephon Halliburton (184 lb) and Tobiasson won by decision. Curreri won by fall to finish the night undefeated.
