MONTREAT, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's wrestling team (1-3) earned its first victory of the season defeating Montreat College (0-2) 28-10.

Veteran standouts, Melvin Rubio (125 lb) and Noah Curreri (184 lb) led the way for Queens with Rubio starting the match with pin and Curreri winning by technical fall.

Jay Skalecki (165 lb) and Stephon Halliburton (174 lb) both won by majority decision while Nico D'Amico, Jude Lloyd, and Gabriel Anderson (285 lb) each won by decision.

The Royals return to Charlotte for its home opener and the opening match of South Atlantic Conference Carolinas competition versus Mount Olive on Wednesday, November 10 at 7 p.m.
