MATTHEWS, N.C. - The second-seeded Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (15-4-1) fell 1-0 to the No. 10 and top-seeded Catawba College Indians (18-0-2) in the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Championship this afternoon at the Matthews Sportsplex.

Helen Summerell of the Indians was able to find the back of the net at 25:49 to give Catawba the SAC Championship title this afternoon.

After not putting a shot on the board in the opening half, Queens was able to tally four in the second.
Karen Juarez put the Royals' lone shot on goal at 52:18, but it would be turned away by Catawba's Jamie Kazenmayer. Â

The Indians completed play with 11 total shots, placing three on goal.

Erica Turner totaled two saves in goal.

Following the match, Queens
Nia Gaither,
Grace Guglielmo, and Turner were named to the SAC All-Tournament team.
This is the second straight season that the Royals have finished runner-up in the SAC Championship.
