CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team closed out their regular-season home schedule today with a 3-0 shutout win over Limestone University. The Senior Day win improves the Royals' overall record to 10-3-1 as they also move to 7-1-1 in South Atlantic Conference play.
Following a scoreless first half of action that saw the Royals get outshot 8-3, Queens came out ready to strike in the second.
Alyssa Edwards scored today's game-winner in the 57
th on an assist from
Eirinn McCafferty. Her goal was then followed by one from
Karen Juarez in the 65
th, and McCafferty closed out the scoring with a goal in the 87
th. McCafferty's goal was assisted by Juarez who led all with three points on the day.
Queens completed play with seven shots on goal compared to Limestone's six shots on goal. Queens goalkeeper
Erica Turner collected her eighth clean sheet of the year after totaling six saves.
