CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team stepped out of South Atlantic Conference play this evening hosting Shaw University at Dickson Field. The Royals defeated the Lady Bears, 1-0, to improve to 8-3 on the year while Shaw drops to 3-8.

Sophomore midfielder
Sophia Muetterties scored the game-winner of the match with a goal in the 61
st minute. The goal, assisted by
Logan Farrelly, is Muetterties' fourth of the season. She now leads the Royals in points this season with nine.

The Royals controlled possession for much of this evening's match outshooting the Lady Bears, 17-2, to put six shots on goal. Muetterties was one of two Royals to place two shots on goal in the win.

In goal,
Erica Turner recorded her sixth shutout of the season and tallied two saves.
