GAFFNEY, SC - The Queens University of Charlotte men's wrestling team (2-3; 2-2 SAC/CC) snapped its two match losing streak rallying to a convincing 28-10 win at previously unbeaten Limestone (2-1; 2-1 SAC/CC)
Alessandro Araujo (125 lb) kicked off the afternoon with a win by fall to put the Royals on the scoreboard first. Following a pair of double forfeits, Limestone and Queens swapped majority decisions with
Christopher Cohens (157 lb) propelling the Royals to a 10-4 team lead.
Limestone answered to even the score before Queens rallied to four consecutive wins by
Austin Watkins (174 lb),
Noah Curreri (184 lb),
Stephon Halliburton (197 lb), and Joshua Voelkel (285 lb) to pull away to a 28-10 final.
The team win hoists Queens to an even record in conference action before its final two matches of the regular season. Queens next competes at Newberry Tuesday, February 2nd at 7 pm.
