No. 4 Queens Rolls Past North Greenville

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team, currently ranked fourth in the nation, improved to 3-0 on the season with a 24-5 win over North Greenville University (1-4) this afternoon at Dickson Field.
 
Senior attacker Ally Blood led the Royals with 10 points today recording a hat trick and seven assists in the win. Rachel Perrett filled up the stat sheet with four goals, four draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers while Kyleigh Masteran added two goals two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and one draw control. Additionally, Kara Blanchard recorded four points on three goals and one assist and Taylor Quade added a hat trick as well.
 
After trading goals early in the game, Queens reeled off nine in a row to take a 10-1 lead at 15:08. They then went up by 10 on a goal by Masteran at 11:38 to start the running clock for the game. At the half, they took a 14-3 lead into the locker room.
 
Queens quickly extended its lead to 17, 20-3, with six unanswered goals at the start of the second half to solidify their third home win in a row.
 
The Royals dominated play on the offensive end today outshooting the Crusaders, 30-11, putting 28 shots on goal. Queens also won the battle at the draw, 21-9, and totaled 20 ground balls to North Greenville's 14.
 
North Greenville was led by Rachel Kellogg who totaled three goals. Ashley Thatcher added the other two.
 
Queens will travel to face No. 8 Florida Southern in their first road game scheduled for Monday, March 2 at 12 p.m.
