CHARLOTTE, N.C.– Despite a lopsided outcome on the stat sheet, the Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (5-2-1; 1-1 SAC) ended its non-conference regional match with Francis Marion (3-1-1) in a 0-0 tie after two overtime periods.
Queens led 21-7 in the shots column and 11-4 in shots on goal but was unable to find the net to secure its sixth victory.
Junior forward
Lulu Phan contributed 12 shots with five of them on target, but the game remained scoreless through its entirety thanks to stellar goalkeeping by Francis Marion's Micahla Kitchen and Rachel Hennenkamp.
The Royals' best opportunities to score came in the second overtime period when Phan got a few open looks sending one ball just over the crossbar while the other hit the post.
Queens is back at home Saturday, September 28 at Dickson Field as South Atlantic Conference play resumes on Family Weekend with a match against No. 16 Lenoir-Rhyne.
