NEWBERRY, S.C. – Competing in the Newberry Duals on Sunday, the Queens University of Charlotte men's wrestling team were overcome in each of its three dual meets from Eleazer Arena. The Royals competed against the top-ranked Division II team in the nation in St. Cloud State, as well as Southeastern and Bellarmine.
Queens was defeated 47-6 by St. Cloud State, 30-15 by Southeastern and 37-17 by Bellarmine.

Noah Curreri and
Stephon Halliburton led Queens with two individual wins apiece as the trio combined to produce 32 of the Royals' 38 total points on the day.
Rubio began the day with a bang for the Royals as he picked up a victory at 125-pounds against the reigning NCAA Division II National Champions and first-ranked team in the country. Rubio took down Brandon Briggs of St. Cloud State via fall at 4:40 to earn six points for Queens. He later followed up that performance with his second fall of the day, this time against Bellarmine's Brandon Lucas at 2:58.
Curreri at 184-pounds was the second member of the Royals to earn a combined 12 points for the Royals. He took down Southeastern's Zechariah Rives at 5:56 in his second match of the day and Brett Bryant of Bellarmine at 2:07, both via fall.
Like Curreri, Halliburton also picked up victories in his final two matches of the day as he beat Tyler Person of Southeastern by a 9-6 decision and Josh Craig of Bellarmine by technical fall, 21-4.
Looking ahead, Queens will have a two-week break from competition following the Newberry Duals before it heads to Indianapolis to compete in the Midwest Classic on Dec. 15-16.
