MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team played their first road game of the season tonight at Georgia College coming away with a 2-0 win. The Royals, currently ranked sixth in the region, now sit at 2-0-1 on the season while the Bobcats fall to 1-2.

Thea Mallett would open up the scoring for the Royals in the 11th minute of play with a goal in the right upper 90 off a pass from
Charlotte Ring. The Royals then captured their second goal of the game in the 43rd minute when
Leanne Bryant found the back of the net.

In the second half, the Royals tried to extend their lead even more getting five shots off, but they were unable put another one away before time would expire.

The Royals totaled 18 shots to Georgia College's 13, putting 13 shots on goal. Goalie
Rachel Quest recorded seven saves while Ashlee Graham of the Bobcats totaled 11 saves.

Queens will open conference play Wednesday, September 13 when they travel to Wingate University. This will be a rematch of last season's South Atlantic Conference Championship Quarterfinal where Wingate narrowly beat the Royals with a 1-0 overtime win. The Royals took the regular season match with the Bulldogs last year by a score of 2-1. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
