Postgame Interview with Denise Brolly
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team battled regionally ranked No. 9 Lenoir-Rhyne University (5-3-1, 1-2-1) to a 2-0 South Atlantic Conference win tonight. The Royals advance to 5-2-1 overall and 3-2 in the SAC.

The first goal of the game came in the 40th minute of play off of a free kick by
Alyssa Bosak. Bosak sent the ball in towards the goal where
Lulu Phan received it outside the 18-yard box and shot it past the Bears' keeper, Alayna Morris. The Royals took the 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

Queens kept the pressure on in the second half, getting four shots off. Their fifth shot and second goal of the night would come in the 79th minute of play when
Alana Jefferson got the ball on the right side of the field. She beat her defender and slotted it over to Emma Rose Stockton who put it into the back of the net. With the Royals up 2-0 time would expire handing them the win.

Royals goalkeeper,
Rachel Quest, snagged four saves this evening while the Bears' Morris grabbed six. Phan led the attack with three shots on goal, and Stockton and
Charlotte Ring followed with two each.

Queens travels to Catawba College on Wednesday, October 4 for a conference match at 5 p.m. The Royals defeated the Indians, 1-0, during the 2016 season. They return home next Saturday, October 7 to face Mars Hill University at 5 p.m.
