SALISBURY, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team, currently ranked seventh in the southeast region, took the win over Catawba College (5-4, 3-1) tonight notching their fourth South Atlantic Conference (SAC) victory of the season. The Royals now sit at 6-2-1 overall and 4-2 in the conference, while Catawba collects their first league loss of the year.

Queens' lone goal came in the 30 minute of play when the Indians fouled in the box giving the Royals a penalty kick that
Charlotte Ring would step up to take. The forward would net what ended up being the game-winning goal.

Ring led the Royals with two shots on goal, followed by
Jordan Winters who had one. Queens goalkeeper,
Rachel Quest, recorded saves on all nine of Catawba's shots on goal for her fourth shutout of the season.

The Royals return home on Saturday, October 7 to face Mars Hill University in a conference game set to kick off at 5 p.m. Queens defeated the Lions, 2-0, last year on goals from
Kathy Fisher and
Alana Jefferson.
