STEPHENVILLE, Texas. – With a 64-51 road win over Tarleton State University, the No. 2 Queens University of Charlotte Royals will enter the New Year undefeated for the third straight season. Queens now sits 13-0 on the season while the Texans fall to 7-5.

Todd Withers led the Royals with 11 points and a new career-high 16 rebounds. The double-double was his fifth of the season.
Ike Agusi added 10 points and totaled five assists and three rebounds while
Darryl White totaled 10 points shooting 100-percent from the floor.
Jalin Alexander,
Mike Davis, and
Daniel Carr chipped in with eight points each.

Alexander knocked down a jumper in the paint to score the first bucket of the game helping Queens build an 11-4 lead early. A fast break dunk from Withers at 8:26 would later give the Royals a 20-9 lead, but the Texans followed with a 13-2 run to tie the game at 22-22 with 4:51 left in the half. Tarleton State then took their first lead of the night on a layup from Jaraan Lands at 1:14, but a triple from White of Queens would put the Royals back on top, 28-26. A pair of free throws from Deshawn Riddick of the Texans just before the break would knot the game at 28-28 at the half.

The game remained close in the second half up until a pair of three-pointers from Withers at Agusi helped Queens move in front by five, 49-44, with just 5:40 to play. The Royals then closed the game with a 15-7 run to walk away with the 13-point win.

Josh Hawley led the Texans with 15 points while Corinthian Ramsey added nine points and six assists. Jaraan Lands added eight points and 11 rebounds.

The Royals are back at home on Wednesday, Jan. 3 against Wingate University. The Bulldogs ended the Royals' program-best 16-0 start last season and went on to sweep Queens in South Atlantic Conference play. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
