Postgame Interview with Head Coach Hannah Long
ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA. – The fifth-seeded Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball team was eliminated from the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional following a 3-0 (25-9, 25-17, 25-18) loss at the hands of fourth-seeded Anderson University (S.C.) on Thursday night.
Queens, the 2017 South Atlantic Conference Tournament Champion, hit a season-low .051 as a unit. In comparison, the Trojans hit .247 in the match and tallied eight service aces.
The first set of play was controlled from start to finish by Anderson, as was the second set of the match. The Royals were able to keep the second set close early on, but a brief 4-0 run helped but Anderson in front by seven as the Trojans largest lead came via the frame's final point.
In the third set, the two sides traded the lead eight times and played to eight ties before six unanswered points helped Anderson build a 14-9 lead. Queens was unable to get closer than a four-point deficit down the stretch as the Trojans advance to the tournament semifinals.
Freshman
