CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team extended its win streak to three tonight as they shutout Mars Hill University (2-7-1, 1-5), 3-0. Queens now sits at 7-2-1 on the season and 5-2 in the South Atlantic Conference.

The Royals opened up the scoring in the 19th minute when
Thea Mallett scored off of a free kick outside the 18-yard box. Mallett grabbed her second goal of the night in the 26 minute with a shot, again, outside the box. This would put the Royals up by two before halftime and give Mallett her second goal of the night.

Queens' success in the attacking third continued with a third goal in the 48 minute when Emma Rose Stockton received the ball outside the 18-yard box and sent in a shot that put the score at 3-0. The Royals continued to press the Lions putting up six more shots on goal before time expired.

Queens totaled 10 shots on goal to Mars Hill's zero. The Royals were led on attack by Mallett and Stockton who grabbed two shots on goal.

Alana Jefferson, Elizabeth Phan,
Leanne Bryant,
Charlotte Ring, and
Kenzie McDowell all got off one shot on goal apiece.

The Royals return home on Monday, October 9 to compete in a non-conference game against NCAA Division III Pfieffer University. The game is set to kick off at 6 p.m.
