CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team extended its winning streak to six tonight taking down Anderson University (4-8-1, 3-5), 1-0. The win puts the Royals at 10-2-1 overall and 7-2 in the South Atlantic Conference.

The lone goal of the game came in the 35th minute of play when the Royals' Thea Mallet took a strike on the right side of the field putting the ball past Trojans goalkeeper, Abby Helm.

Alana Jefferson led the Royals with three shots on goal, followed by
Lulu Phan,
Jordan Winters, and Mallett who each had one apiece. As a team, the Royals outshot Anderson, 13-5. Goalkeeper
Rachel Quest snagged two saves and her seventh shutout of the year.

In addition to winning tonight, the Royals debuted at No. 3 in the first NCAA regional rankings of the season. The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.

The Royals take the field again on Saturday, Oct. 21 against Coker College for their final home match of the regular season at 5 p.m. at Dickson Field. Prior to the game, the team will be honoring its six seniors,
