MARS HILL, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team grabbed a 2-0 road win over Mars Hill University this evening to improve to 6-5 on the year and 4-3 in South Atlantic Conference play. The Lions fall to 3-7-1 on the season and 2-5 in league play.

The Royals dominated play outshooting Mars Hill, 21-4. Queens put seven shots on goal, while preventing the Lions from placing anything on frame.
Rachel Quest recorded her fourth shutout of the year with the win.

Queens took a 1-0 lead in the 20
th minute following a goal scored by senior midfielder
Kathy Fisher. Freshman midfielder Thea Mallet earned the assist on the game winning goal after delivering a cross to Fisher prior to the score.

The Royals held the 1-0 lead until junior midfielder
Alana Jefferson gave the visiting Royals a 2-0 advantage with a goal in the 70
th minute. After receiving a pass from senior junior
Mariah Lewis, Jefferson took one touch before firing the ball into the back of the net.

Queens will return to Dickson Field on Saturday, October 15 to host Newberry College at 5 p.m. The Royals defeated Newberry 2-1 last season.
Charlotte Ring and Jefferson both scored in the win.
