HICKORY, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team fell 1-0 at Lenoir-Rhyne University bringing their record to 4-5 on the year and 2-3 in league play. The Bears improve to 6-2-2 on the season and 3-1-1 in South Atlantic Conference play.

Following a first half that ended in a 0-0 score, the lone goal of this evening's game would be scored in the 69
th minute by Cassandra Kerrigan of the Bears. Jessica Feronti was awarded the assist on the play.

Queens'
Miranda Dechant made an effort to equalize the match right after Kerrigan's score, but her shot would be turned away by Bears goalkeeper Andrea Leano. Leano totaled two saves on the day having blocked a shot by Queens'
Alana Jefferson early in the game.

The Royals were outshot 22-6 as the Bears put nine shots on goal. Queens put two shots on frame. Goalkeeper
Rachel Quest totaled eight saves for the Royals.

The Royals are back at home on Wednesday, October 5 when they host Catawba College at 5 p.m. Last season, Queens defeated the Indians 1-0 in overtime with
Alana Jefferson scoring the game winner in the 100
th minute.
